Kabras hit Blak Blad to complete a double

Kabras RFC have completed a double over Blak Blad following a 69-0 win in a Kenya Cup match staged at Kakamega Showground.

Philip Wokorach continued to impress, scoring three tries in the match. Felix Ayange also had a hat-trick while Claude Johannes, bagged two tries each. Mario Wilson, Nick Baraza and Brain Tanga also scored a try each.

Targeting a double, Kabras started off strongly with Philip Wokorach selling a dummy before accelerating from the centre to touch down the opening try. He failed to add the extras. The side then added two quick tries through South Africa import Claude Johannes.

The eighth man dotted his first off the scrum in Blad’s danger zone. He returned to the scoresheet with his second try that was converted by Philip Wokorach for a 17-0 lead. The scoring run saw Wokorach bag his second try after gliding past the students in the five-metre line. The side added the two more points from a conversion.

Wokorach would repeat his trademark steps to go over for his third try. He comfortably added the extras for a 31-0 lead.

Captain of the day Brian Tanga sealed their first-half scores with a try after beating Allan Ominde. The sides would head out for a breather with Kabras leading 38-0.

On returning from the break, centres Mario Wilson and Nick Baraza joined the scorer’s list bagging a try each with one being converted to send them to  50-0.

Kenyan International Felix Ayange earned his side a five-pointer, with the ball reaching him after being channeled from the scrum. Wokorach added two more points from the tee. Ayange made another visit at Blad’s try box and scored his scored try while Jone Kubu who making his first appearance of the season failed to add the extras.

Kubu would leave the pitch with his name on the scoresheet after converting Ayange’s final try. The wins means Kabras will stay top of the log.
