The Kenya Lionesses find themselves in group B after the pools for the women sevens qualifiers were released and will battle it out with Papua New Guinea, Lady Cranes and hosts Hong Kong.
Lionesses under the tutorship of Kevin Wambua will be looking for better tidings this year at the tournament that will take place on 4th and 5th of April in Hong Kong.
Pool A has Japan, Belgium, Scotland and Mexico while Pool C consists of Brazil, Argentina, Kazakhstan and Poland.
The last edition saw the ladies bundled out of the competition in sudden death by South Africa in the semi finals which Wambua looks to avoid heading into this year’s tournament.
“Being pooled with the Host Nation, our neighbors and PNG means we have to bring our A game from the first game throughout our entire pool games. It’s a challenge that both the team and I are looking forward to. We also know that if we want to qualify we have to beat all the other teams we will face and that’s what we have to focus on, A game at a time in the process.”
