Kakamega crowned County 15s Champs, St Peters retain 7s

Kakamega High Barbarians have defended the County 15s title after downing Koyonzo 14-5 in the finals staged at St Peter Mumias on Saturday 9 March.

Amos Wamanga charges crossed over twice while their opponents scored one unconverted try.  To reach the finals, Kakamega beat Musingu 15-3 in the first semi-final.

Musingu scored first but Barbarians responded with an unconverted try from Reinhard Jamuhuri.  In the final half, Amos Wamanga charges were clinical and added two more tries. Jamuhuri added his second try to put the side seven points up.

The side got assured of a place in the finals after adding the third try that put the game beyond Musingu’s reach. Koyonzo shocked Peters with a 13-3 win to reach the finals.

County 7s

St Peters, however, redeemed themselves with their 7s side bagging the County 7s after a 26-7 win over Mukumu boys. The two will represent the County in the 7s games.
