Quins overcome a resilient Mwamba

Kenya Harlequins managed a 43-24 win over Mwamba RFC in a match held at the Kenyatta University grounds.

Mwamba were first on the score sheet through an Elvis Namusasi penalty.

Harlequins would then assert their dominance in the first half with five quick tries, Asiligwa managing to concert three to make matters 31-3 early on.

Mwamba would then pull back two tries through Billy Odhiambo and Tony Owuor, Tony Omondi getting right one conversion to bring scores to 31-15 going into the blocks. The match far from over as Mwamba were showing no signs of giving up in the contest.

Quins would strike early in the second half through Patrice Agunda, Asiligwa adding the extras for a 38-15 lead. Mwamba would score shortly afterwards from the back of a scrum to cut the deficit to just 18 points. Quins leading 38-20.

Mwamba would then add another through Dan Sikuta, Omondi adding the extras to bring the match to 38-27.

Quins would add a try, Asiligwa missing the conversion for a 43-27 lead. Mwamba would have the last try of the game through Eugine Nzioka to take his team to 43-34.
