Impala Saracens head coach Frank Ndong has attributed their win over Homeboyz to good defending and kicking.
The Ngong-road based side produced a brilliant first half display to see off a resilient Homeboyz 36-27 in an a match played Impala grounds on Saturday.
Impala were able collect 14 points from their kicks that were on target. The coach says their efficiency was a result of his kickers practice throughout the week.
“It was the winner takes it all in this match so we worked on our defence as you saw we picked a lot injures but it was worth it. The kickers have been also working hard and the results show,” he said.
Injuries by Sammy Oliech, Edgar Obino and Quinto Oongo could not stop the side’s chase for the sixth win of the season. Ndong says they had planned well and had a perfect replacement for every slot.
“Of course he (Oliech) is one of our key players but we had a back up for all positions. We had Anthony Odhiambo who came in and filled his shoes comfortably, ” he added.
Impala Saracens will be back in action to face Blak Blad on Saturday.
