Kenya Harlequins overpower Strathmore to return to winning ways

Kenya Harlequins bounced back to winning ways with a convincing 41-23 win over Strathmore Leos in a Kenya Cup match played on Sunday 24 February.

Both sides came to this clash seeking to return to winning ways having suffered defeats in the last two matches.  They would go to the break with Starthmore Leos leading 18-15.

Quins skipper Peter Misango scored their opening try off a maul while Clinton Imbuye replied at the other end with a try for the students. Fly-half Gideon Makumi put the students to lead after bagging a converted try.

Matoka Matoka stretched their lead to 13 points adding a penalty to their scores. Quins started to trim the gap, scoring their second try through Jasper Ochen before Aluda Beda’s third try send them to 15 points.

Quins returned  from the break full of confidence and Iddi Kakai, David Ambunya added two more tries. Charles Cardovillis charges a landed another try for 34-18 lead.

Kevin Angote scored Quins final try while Imbuye pulled one back for Strathmore, bringing the scores to 41-23.
