MMUST whip Ngong Warriors, Kisii upset Monks

MMUST picked a massive 51-8 win in a KRU Championship clash against Ngong Warrior held at MMUST Grounds on Saturday.

It is was their first match at their original home venue after having been cleared to use it. The previous held their home matches at Kakamega Showground.

The Students went to the break leading 24-5. In the second half, they added 27 more points and conceded just three points for win.

Kisii win

Kisii RFC handed Catholic Monks a 15-9 defeat in a KRU Championship match played at Kisii High School.

Kisii won the match despite being unable to get a try in the clash. Aggrey Kitoi was impressive from the kicking tee and he would bag a hat-trick in the opening half  and added a brace of in the second half from the tee for their points.

For Monks it was Newton Wasike’s two penalties and one from  James Mbugua that earned them nine points in the clash.


In Eldoret, UoE Trojans were held to a 20-20 draw in   match held at UoE grounds. The first half ended 8-5 in favour of the hosts.

Dennis Mwanga scored the first three points for UoE before Pirates respond with unconverted try. Timothy Wakaisaka restored UoE’s lead with unconverted try at the other end.

In the second half, Edwin Kiptoo earned his side a converted try for a 15-5 lead. Tobby Odhiambo gave his side five more points while the visitors landed 15 points through a penalty try, a try and a penalty.
