Kenya 7s boss Paul Murunga believes his charges have a clear chance to beat France and Argentina in the Group stages of the Las Vegas 7s set for 1-3 March.
Shujaa are in Pool B and will kick off their Las Vegas 7s campaign on 2nd March against USA at 3:50am, they will later tackle France at 6:29am. Their final match will see them play against Argentina 11:58 pm.
Kenya has played against France all of the four opening legs and they have managed just one in those four meetings. The last meeting saw Kenya fall 40-17, which was the worst ever loss to Les Blues in the last 20 meetings.
There have been two meetings between Kenya and Argentina this season. Argentina won the first encounter 34-31 while the Hamilton 7s encounter ended 24-7 in favour of Kenya 7s.
Murunga says their charges have worked hard in the training sessions and he is confident they can pick positive results against the two sides.
“The work we have put in shows we have a clear chance to win against Argentina and France bearing in mind that we have played them before.” He told KRU.
The two-time National 7s Circuit winner with Homeboyz rugby will be eyeing the first ever Quarterfinal appearance as the Kenya 7s boss.
He has called in Herman Humwa, Michael Agevi, Edmund Anya and Charles Owino to beef up his side.
