Massive boost for MMUST as the race for playoff slots intensifies

KRU Championship side MMUST have received a massive boost in the remaining fixtures of the season after they were cleared to use their MMUST Grounds for their home matches.

The Students have been sharing the Kakamega Showground with Kenya Cup side Kabras RFC since match day two of the second tier.

Scrummage understands they were barred from using the homeground after a crowd trouble during the season’s opener against Western Bulls which ended 16-15 in favour of Echulusi. Their flanker Venance Shikuba was also handed five match ban after the clash but has since resumed action.

They have won all the last four home matches beating UoE, Kitale, Egerton and Catholic Monks despite playing in an alternative venue.

“It’s confirmed!! We are going back home. Come support the boys this weekend as we reopen our ground at 4pm pale mmust,”reads a statement by  MMUST.

They expected to welcome Ngong Warriors this weekend. They will then host Kisumu an Kisii at the venue in the final two home matches. The Kakamega based side sits at position sixth, with 18 points from the last 10 matches.
