Mwamba coach terms performance flawless, looks to build on momentum

Mwamba head coach Kevin Wambua is a happy man after his team produced a stellar display to run in eight tries past Mean Machine saying it was a performance that any coach would love.

A hat trick from Joel Igunza, a brace from Collins Injera and a try from Deus Mudaki, Hussein Yaya and Salaton Muturi were all that Mwamba needed to win the early kick off at Ruaraka grounds, much to the amusement of the tactician.

“I can’t ask for more. Four tries first half, four tries in the second that is what a coach really wants. Am happy that we settled early this week and build on some consistency and momentum.” Wambua said after the match.

Mwamba now lie fifth on the log with 32 points, level on points with Harlequins and just one point behind third placed Nondies. This further strengthens their play off prospects ahead of a series of tough tests ahead, starting with an away game to Nakuru on Saturday 23.

The coach however exuded confidence in his team and hopes his team will replicate and build on their weekend’s performance in the oncoming matches.

“We are happy we do not have a negative points and I hope the boys can carry the form to Nakuru.” He added.
