After the ninth round of the second tier-KRU Championship, former Kenya Cup side Western Bulls have assumed the top spot after beating South Coast Pirates.
Echulusi moved top after a bonus-point win in the clash staged at the Bull Ring. They have now collected 33 points following seven wins, one draw and loss. On the score charts, they are tied with USIU at the top as they have scored 177 and conceded 78.
Former Kenya Cup sides Catholic Monks and USIU are tied at 32 points each after defeats to MMUST and Kitale RFC respectively.

At the fifth spot is MMUST who shocked Monks at the Kakamega Showground. Ochieng Ahaya charges have 18 points following five wins in the last nine matches. The Students will, however, face immense pressure stay in the top six as Egerton and Mombasa just a point behind them.
