One KRU Championship clash canceled

The KRU Championship clash pitting Kisumu RFC and Ngong Warriors scheduled for Kisumu Polytechnic will not go on as planned, this after Ngong pulled out of the clash.

According to the hosts Kisumu, their opponents will not be able to honour the fixture and they (Kisumu) have been awarded a walkover.

“Our home KRU Championship match day 9 fixture set for Saturday 9 February 2019 at Kisumu Poly has been canceled as our opponents Ngong Warriors are unfortunately unable to honor the fixture and we have been awarded the walkover,” Reads a statement by Kisumu.

A confirmation by Kenya Rugby Union reads: “The KRUChampionship match between Kisumu Rugby and Ngong Warriors will not take place as earlier stated. The Warriors are unable to honour the fixture due to some unavoidable circumstances. Kisumu have been awarded a walkover.”

Five matches will go on as planned with Kisii high hosting the clash between Kisii and Egerton. Western Bulls will take on SC Pirates at the Bull Ring as UoE Trojans entertain Mombasa in Eldoret.

Catholic Monks will visit Kakamega Showground to tackle MMUST whereas Kitale will play USIU at Equip College in Kitale.
