KCB roar past Strathmore Leos, Machine fall to Homeboyz

Kenya Cup defending Champion KCB continued to impress as they whipped Strathmore Leos 53-8 in a Kenya Cup match held at Madaraka Grounds on Saturday evening.

The hosts registered the first points of the game with Matoka Matoka penalty putting them three points up. The Bankers responded immediately through Michael Wanjala who bagged a five-pointer for his side.

Curtis Olago charges stretched the lead with a try from Kenyan International Tony Onyango. Centre Peter Kilonzo added their third try of the game.

In the final half, Peter Karia opened the scores with an unconverted try while Kilonzo returned to the scoresheet with a converted try. Substitute  Vincent Onyala went over for KCB’s sixth try of the game to lead 34-3.

They added 17 more points in the closing minutes through Onyango, Onyala and  Darwin Mukidza to hand Leos the eighth loss of the season.

At UoN Grounds, Mean Machine threw away a 10-5 lead to lose 22- 13 to visiting Homeboyz RFC in another Kenya Cup match.
