Quins make light work of Ngong to reach Enterprise Cup pre-quarters

Kenya Harlequin progressed to the second round of the Enterprise Cup following a 80-3 thrashing of KRU Championship outfit Ngong Warriors on Saturday February 2.

Quins squandered a chance to take an early lead after Lyle Asiligwa raced onto his kick before setting up Scott Oluoch who knocked on.

Charles Cardovillis charges would soon make ammends as Roxy Suchi scored off a rolling maul before Asiligwa sent his conversion attempt wide.

The visitors were handed a chance to cut the deficit when they were awarded a penalty but Brian Tipape’s attempt from forty yards was short.

Loose forward Herman Humwa then bulldozed past a host of Ngong bodies before offloading to Suchi who dotted down between the sticks for his second of the match;Asiligwa sure with the extras.

Aaron Ofoyrwoth was next to ink his name on the scoresheet, outpacing his opponents to cross the whitewash on the left for a five-pointer.

Frank Wanyama was set up by Asiligwa for his side’s fourth try, taking the scores to 22-0 in favour of Quins.

Aluda Beda, Matt Wanjia and Willy Ambaka would all touch down in succession as Quins took a 39-0 lead at half-time.

Humwa stretched Quins’ lead after resumption before Ngong scored a penalty to reduce the deficit.

Jasper Ochen and Scott Oluoch scored two tries each with Peter Misango also crossing the whitewash to seal the win for Quins.
