USA outsmarted Kenya 7s to win 41-0 in a second match of the Sydney 7s played at Sportless Stadium on Stadium morning.
Heading to this clash Kenya had won six of the last 14 meetings while two matches had ended in draws. The last meeting was June 2018 in Twickenham during the London 7s and the match ended 19-19.
Kenya started off poorly and Mike Friday’s side went on to score four tries in the opening half. The first try was scored in the first minute through Danny Barret.
The side would strike again after Barrett set up Ben Pinkleman on the right wing and the latter paced on to score on the right side of the try box.
Barrett would play another role by winning a restart, and USA moved the ball to Folau Niua who booted it forward and Martin Iosefo went on to score after chasing on.
USA went to the break leading 22-0 thanks to Madison Hughes try after he outpaced Johnston Olindi on the right side.
In the second half, Carlin Isles outpaced Ojee to extend their lead with a converted try. USA continued to enjoy play, winning another kickoff and Maceo Brown got his name on the scoresheet same to Kevon Williams.
Kenya’s try by Daniel Taabu was ruled out and they would leave the clash with a single try and dropped to the challenge trophy.
