Kenya 7s are winless at the Sydney 7s after losing 40-17 to France in their final pool B match played at Spotless Stadium on Saturday morning.
It was the third time that Kenya- France were facing off this season. France had won two of the three matches played. Eyeing the third win against Kenya, Le Blues started off with a patient build-up and Stephen Parez would go over for a try after being set by unleashed by Manuel Dall’igna.
Kenya responded with Brian Wandera touching down at the other end for a five-pointer. Kenya 7s led for the first time after Vincent Onyala dotted Kenya’s second try.
Perez restored France lead after outpacing Bush Mwale to score and convert. He returned to the scoresheet with the third try that saw them lead 21-12.
Paulin Riva dived over for another try before Perez crossed over for his fourth try of the day. Nisie Huyard powered his way to the try line too ensure they hit 40 points.
Mark Ruga Wandeto landed a late try but it was too late for Kenya. The side now shifts focus on Challenge Trophy.
