England are the Hamilton 7s Challenge trophy winners after beating Kenya 7s 36-7 in the finals played at FMG Stadium on Sunday Morning.
England got on the scoresheet first with experienced Daniel Bibby going over for the opening try of the game. He added the extras for his side to lead 7-0. A beautiful interchange for Kenya at the other end saw 22-year-old Vincent Onyala level the scores with a converted try.
The Englishmen led again two minutes later after Tom Bowen raced on the right wing and got converted try. Dan Norton’s 311th try of his HSBC World Rugby Sevens career for England saw them head to the break leading 19-7.
In the final half, both Bibby, Norton and got a try each at the eighth, 10th and 13th minute to hit the 36 point mark.
Kenya now shifts focus on Sydney 7s set for Australia where they will be seeking to pick meaningful results.
