Oilers, KCB win as Strathmore shock Homeboyz to end bad run

Menengai Oilers bagged the second win of the season after outwitting Blak Blad 24-13 in a Kenya Cup match staged at Kenyatta University Grounds.

Blak Blad opened the scores with a penalty from Allan Ominde while Oilers responded with two tries in a span eight minutes. The first try came from Derrick Mbaire while Francis Atiti added the second.

Stormy Odhiambo’s try saw the students reclaim the lead before Humphrey Litali’s got their second try. The Nakuru based side at the other end added their third try of the game.

At Ruaraka Grounds, KCB kept Kabras on toes after registering a convincing 49-6 win over Nakuru while Strathmore Leos ended their winless streak after beating Homeboyz 20-14.

The students took a 13- 0 lead before allowing the Deejays respond with two converted tries. A converted try in the final half would hand the side a win after eight matches of search.
