Youngsters in Kakamega and Nakuru who failed to make it for Kenya Under 20 trials held in Nairobi will have a chance to prove themselves as the selectors have opted to have trials in the two regions.
According to the Kenya Rugby Union official portal, the ASK Nakuru Showgrounds and the ASK Kakamega Showgrounds will host trials this weekend as from 8:00am.
This will be the third trial session after the first session that was held at RFUEA Grounds last Sunday, where 180 players turned up.
“Following the conclusion of the Kenya Under 20 trials held on 20th January at the RFUEA Grounds where a provisional squad was selected, further trials will be held in Nakuru and Kakamega on Sunday 27th January at the ASK Nakuru Showgrounds and the ASK Kakamega Showgrounds from 8:00am,” reads a statement by KRU.
“These trials are to help the upcoming players in these regions, who could not make it to Nairobi, stand a chance at joining the National Team, ” the statement reads further.
The players who will be selected will form Kenya Under 20 squad set to battle in Barthes Cup where the winner will represent Africa in the 2019 Junior World Rugby Trophy.
