Kabras ready to add Mwamba to list of casualties

Kenya Cup league leaders Kabras Sugar will be seeking to bag an eighth win on the trot when they host Mwamba at the Kakamega Showground on Saturday.

The round 8 tie, scheduled to start at 4pm, will see the sugar millers confront a resurgent Mwamba team who are on a four-match winning streak.

“We shall not take them lightly as we want to see if we can put the game together for 80 minutes,” Kabras coach Henly Du Plessis said.

“We want to approach the fixture like we have been doing with all the others and see what we can get out of the match,” he said.

The tactician is hopeful of having a full strength squad, having taken off the key duo of half-back Logan Basson and loose forward Dan Sikuta in last weekend’s convincing win at Nondescripts.

“Taking them off was a precautionary measure because we were having the Mwamba match in mind,” he said.

Other fixtures scheduled for Saturday will see champions KCB host Nakuru as Homeboyz clash with Strathmore Leos.

The Impala Club will host the Ngong Road derby pitting Impala Saracens against Kenya Harlequin as Nondies and Mean Machine face off.
