Nakuru RFC head coach Mitch Ocholla says preparation will be key as they seek to bag their first win of the year when they host Homeboyz at the Nakuru Athletic Club (NAC) over the weekend.
Wanyore head to the Kenya Cup round 7 match reeling from last weekend’s 36-21 loss to Kenya Harlequin and according to Ocholla, their is no room for excuses for that slump.
“Every team had a three-week break and therefore you can’t say it’s only our players who are struggling with fitness issues,” he said.
“Rugby is also about the physical and mental state so we can’t blame the break but just focus on our target which is making it to the play-offs,” offered Ocholla.
On Saturday’s match against the Deejays, the tactician said: “It will be about how we prepare, you can’t look forward to a game if you are not well prepared.”
“We will do a lot of review on what has not been working for us as we aim at ticking the boxes to get better,” concluded Ocholla.
The Nakuru-Homeboyz tie is one of two lined up at the NAC on Saturday as Nakuru’s cross-town neighbours Menengai Oilers will face basement side Strathmore Leos in the early kick-off.
