Injera bags hat-trick, Mwamba condemn Strathmore to sixth loss

Mwamba RFC handed Strathmore Leos a 47-25 beating which means the Madaraka based side is yet to win in the opening six Kenya Cup matches.

The hosts, Strathmore Leos were the first ones to get on the scoresheet with a penalty. Kulabu then responded with a try from Tony Omondi’s converted try.

John Mbai coached side reclaimed the lead with a five-pointer but it did not last long as Mwamba managed another converted try courtesy of Brian Otieno.

Leos once again wrestled their way to the lead,  this time round capitalizing on Martin Oyugi’s blunder to score a converted try that put them a point ahead.

Collins Injera ensured, however, ensured Mwamba went to break leading 21-15.

On return from the break, Steve Wagondu stretched while Billy Odhiambo announced his return from injury with a try before Kenya 7s star Injera crossed over for his second and third try of the day in the dying minutes
