Kisumu eyeing better tidings in January

With just one week to go before rugby action to resumes across the country, Kisumu head coach Howard Okwemba outlines the importance of the upcoming January fixtures to their play off ambitions this season.
Kisumu have only lost once, the loss coming against Kisii Rfc and the coach recognizes the opposition that his team will face in the next few fixtures and how important it will be for them to win.
The lakeside team will face USIU, Catholic Monks before facing Mombasa in the closing weekend of January. Okwemba says winning this fixtures will be a big  them reaching the play offs of the championship league.
” We come into these fixtures off three wins,a draw and a defeat. January is a big stepping stone for us in terms of our playoff ambitions.We are heading into back to back fixtures against USIU and Monks who are top of their conference and expect good, tough encounters against them.” Okwemba told the Club’s official portal.

Kisumu RFC managed to bag 16 points in the opening five matches of the KRU Championship. They are fifth on the Championship log.
