UoE Trojans expecting a turn around in 2019

UoE Trojans manager Kelvin Mwisheni admits that he is worried about the losing streak witnessed in the opening five games but he is confident that they will rise come 2019.

The side began the 2018/19 Championship campaign with a 20-9 loss to Kisumu RFC. Their last four matches saw them fall 10-8 to Kitale, 17-10 to MMUST, 13-6 to Kisii and 17-10 to Western Bulls.

UoE will end the year at the 11th position with just four points. Mwisheni believes the margins in their defeats shows the need few adjustments to break the 2018/19 duck.

“The trend is getting me worried since we’re at the bottom of the table. We’ve played 5 games got 4 points from 4 games. In the games we’ve played we’ve been losing by a small margin difference of 7 points and below. I can’t say the boys are badly off since we have a couple of home matches that we need to execute well and get wins from them, ” Mwisheni told Scrummage.

To turn around the results, the tactician says they will need to sharpen the attack and bring in a few new signings.

“As we head to the new year I expect different results. Few key areas that I need to correct, work on the finishing and probably look for two-three players during this short transfer windows just to boost the squad especially back line,” he added.
