Kabras gore Impala to end the year on a high

Kabras RFC have ended the year on a high, whipping Impala Saracens 42-10 in the final Kenya Cup match in 2018 played in a rainy evening at Kakamega Showground on Saturday 15 December.
Being a top of the table and both sides being unbeaten, many expected Impala to give Kabras RFC a run for their money. Kabras, however, had a dream start and managed to score three converted tries in the opening 25 minutes.
Ugandan International Philip Wokorach opened the scores after breaching the defence, and he dotted for five points before converting for a 7-0 lead. Kabras extended their lead with a try from lock Brian Tonya, once again Wokorach converted to double their lead.
Wokorach who was having a good day from the boot converted a try from Nick Barasa as the Sugarmen cross the 20 point mark. South African import Logan Basson crossed over for Kabras third try and once again Wokorach converted to take Kabras to 28-0, a lead they held on till halftime despite the heavens opening up.
On return from the break, the Sugarmen landed a converted try to widen their gap before Impala hustled their way to try line and scored two unconverted tries. Kabras would and the final try through Wokorach and it was converted to win the match.
In the Eric Shirley Shield, Kabras won 29-13. Washington Ombima, Johnstone Munga’o, Jone Kubu, Dan Makacha scored Kabras tries in the win.
