Nakuru bounce back in style as Mwamba end Nondies fine run

Nakuru RFC bounced back to winning ways with 42-22 victory over Blak Blad in a Kenya Cup match staged at Nakuru Athletic Club.
Wanyore scored their opening try through Collins Onyango while Archadius Kwesa dotted Blad’s opener. After the tries, there was an exchange of penalties where Blad scored twice while Nakuru scored once.
Philip Kwame’s converted try saw Nakuru lead the 15-11. Gibson Mugwe added unconverted try as they hit the 20 point mark. Blad would add a penalty before Martin Muita ensured a 23-14 lead at the breather.
On return from the break, the students scored through Ian Obukwa stretched the lead with a try while Naku scored through Chrispin Onyango to widen the gap again before Edwin Anunda’s converted try took the scored to 37-22. Nakuru added a converted to win the match.
Nondies unbeaten run ends
At Jamhuri, Mwamba registered the first win of the beating Nondies 13-12. The side went to break leading 10-0 but Nondies fought back to lead 12-10.
In the dying minutes of the clash, Mwamba scored a penalty through Eugene Nzioka to win. The win end Nondies unbeaten run in Kenya Cup
