MMUST pick maiden win in KRU Championship

MMUST picked the first win in the KRU Championship after beating UoE 17-10 in an early kick off clash staged at Kakamega Showgrounds.
UoE stood tall and kept marauding MMUST at bay in the opening 40 minutes. On return from the break, MMUST opened the scores with an unconverted try by Felix Wamocho.
The visitors trimmed the gap with a penalty before MMUST second try was dotted by centre Timothy Mmasi. The Kenya 7s trialist failed to add the extras from the tee.
Former Kakamega High school ace Okwemba Ejakait who was making his debut scored his first try in a MMUST shirt and Mmasi added the extras.
UoE launched a fightback but managed to score one converted try that cut the gap to just seven points. This is UoE’s third straight loss in the Championship.
