Kenya 7s end Dubai campaign with loss to Japan

Kenya 7s campaign in Dubai 7s has ended without a single win after they went down to Japan in the 13 place semis played at the Sevens Stadium.
After a scrum in Japan’s half, Kenya channeled the ball to the right wing and Leonard Mugaisi went over for Kenya’s opening try. Kenya failed to add the extras as their conversion sailed wide.
Katsuyuki Sakai responded with a try converted try after beating Dennis Ombachi and he would double their lead with a converted try before the halftime break.
On return from the break, Japan picked from where they left, adding the third converted try via Dai Ozawa. Kenya trimmed the gap after Johnstone Olindi set up Dennis Ombachi who scored Kenya second try.  Daniel Taabu converted for a 21-12 scoreline.
Masaki Kondo took the scores to 26-12 before Mugaisi scored Kenya’s final try.
Kenya now shifts focus to South Africa where they will taking part in the Cape Town 7s.
