Dubai 7s: Kenya Lionesses fall to New Zealand

Kenya Lionesses suffered a 34-7 loss to New Zealand in their first of the Dubai 7s played on Thursday afternoon.
Lionesses conceded the first try in the second minute. 19 yeard old Alena Saili went over for unconverted. Kelly Brazier added their second try two minutes later and converted for a 12-0 lead.

The side would add 12 more points before the break with Michaela Blyde’s converted try and Sarah Goss going over for unconverted try that gave the Ferns a 24-0 lead at halftime.
On return from the break the Lionesses pulled one back after Grace Adhiambo produced a clean pair of heels to touch down at the posts. Risaleaana Pouri-Lane and Gayle Broughton added 10 more points for a 34-7 win over Kevin Wambua’s side.
The side will be keen to bounce back as they take on the field to tackle Ireland at 3:24 PM for the second match.  Their final match of the day will be against Russia.
