MMUST backrower and Bulls skipper suspended for weeks

The Kenya Rugby Union disciplinary committee has handed Western Bulls skipper Treasury Odundo and MMUST flanker Venance Shikuba a four and five-match suspension respectively.
Shikuba and Odundo had a physical clash during the heated Kakamega Derby which was staged at MMUSTGrounds on the first day of the season. They were sent off from the clash which Bulls went on to pick a 15-14 win.
According to the judicial decision by the Union, Shikuba ban was to be seven matches but after mitigation, he will serve a five-week ban while Odundo will sit out for a month.
Pursuant to Following the disciplinary hearing held on 21st Nov 2018 at the KRU offices with regards to Venance Shikuba of @MMUST_Kenya, it was agreed that acts of foul were committed by the player Mr Shikuba who is hence vicariously liable for those actions. World Rugby Regulations, The player is suspended from competing in games for 7 weeks during the KRU 2018/2019 season which is reduced to 5 weeks after mitigation. The sanction shall take effect from start of the competition they will be competing in.

Following the disciplinary hearing held on 21st Nov 2018 at the KRU offices with regards to Treasure Odundo of , The Committee is satisfied that on a balance of probabilities, acts of foul were committed by the player who is hence vicariously liable for those actions.
Pursuant to World Rugby Regulations, the player is subject to sanction and the Committee imposes sanction as follows: “The player is suspended from competing in games for 6 weeks during the KRU 2018/2019 season which is reduced to 4 weeks after mitigation.For the avoidance of doubt, the sanction shall take effect from start of the competition they will be competing in.”
The two missed match-day two clashes where Bulls beat Kisii 17-10 while MMUST lost to Kisumu 28-3.
