Moi Arsonists name six debutants for Kabarak duel

Moi Arsonists will be seeking for a perfect start in the Rift Valley Nationwide League as they cover over a hundred miles to face off with Kabarak University in Nakuru.
The side will be captained by Nicholas Mwenda who starts at scrum half and is assisted by Jeremy Opis in the right wing.Emmanuel Amadi and Callisto Otieno are the day’s prop and in between them slots Solomon Mukamba.
Collins Mutwiri comes in for Kevin Wanyonyi who has since not recuperated from a knee injury he sustained during a training session. Mutwiri joins Wesley Lusaka in the engine room.Zephaniah Ongondi,Solomon Ngoya and Brian Asoro make up the back row.
Captain Nicholas Mwenda claims this is going to be a tough match for his side since Kabarak are already up in terms of match fitness.
“We expect a tough match since Kabarak have already played their first game and we didn’t have one.We expect them to come to us hungrier since they are not only at home but also a wounded side considering they lost their first game against Eldoret RFC.”
The last time the two sides clashed in the longer version of the game was way back in March 2016 where the Arsonists claimed a hard fought 18-3 victory.
“We met them early this year in KUSA Rift 7s and surely they have our respect. We know the threat they posses especially in open plays. We haven’t meet them recently in a 15s match and we don’t know their approach and style of play in a 15s game.We are preparing for anything and we’re going to give our best,” Mwenda told the scrummage.
Eugene Omondi and Derrick Kinyari partner in the midfield as Tony Khadambi is named at fullback. The likes of James Waweru,Kenan Masinde and Martin Mwendwa are named as replacements.
The match will kick off at 3pm.
