Homeboyz picked the first win of the season after a 22-18 victory over Mwamba in a Kenya Cup match staged at Railways Grounds,
Both sides came to the match seeking to bounce back winning ways after day one disappointing losses. Homeboyz had lost Nondies 20-14 while Mwamba were handed a 29-26 defeat by Kenya Harlequins.
Brian Kivisia dodged the opening points of the match for Mwamba with a penalty before Bush Mwale scored an unconverted try for Homeboyz. Brian Juma and Joseph Amalemba crossed past the line for Homeboyz second and third try with Henry Ayah managing one conversion while Kivisia dodging another penalty to make it 17-6 at halftime in favour of Homeboyz.
William Diffu aided Homeboyz to continue with the lead with Ayah missing the conversion. Fews minutes to the final blow,Mwamba scored unconverted try courtesy of Brad Owako and awarded a penalty try closing the gap but not good enough to turn over.
