Reason why Aluda Beda did not make Kenya Harlequins debut

Kenya Harlequins were forced to withdraw Aluda Beda from the starting line ahead of their Kenya Cup opening match against Mwamba RFC played on Sunday at RFUEA Grounds.
The winger was poised for his debut at Quins but was replaced by Idriss Kakai and Head Coach Charles Cardovillis reveals that he could not feature since Kabras RFC have declined to release. The winger has been with Quins for close to a month.
Beda who is  Kabras’ all-time leading scorer in all competitions was not among the 30 players who were contracted the 2018/19 season and was later given a lifeline at Kenya Harlequins. Cardovillis is gutted by the move by Kabras to hold on the release letter.
He feels holding on the letters is a punishment to the players who are keen to pursue their rugby dream and has condemned the move, terming it as bad for the game.
“Kabras are giving us a hard time. They are refusing to release the players but we are hoping to have him available next week. I don’t understand them, rugby is supposed to be a gentleman’s game and a game of a goodwill. They are punishing these players for nothing and its bad for rugby,” he said.
Kabras also had named Nick Barasa in the matchday squad for the match against Mean Machine but later replaced him with Fabian Olando. Barasa, Beda and Dominic Osino are the players that have joined Quins from Kabras.
Beda left Kabras after close to six years
