South Africa snatched extra time victory over the stubborn Frenchmen 29-26 after a staging a come back for a dramatic finish in Stade de France.
France dominance in the first half saw skipper Guilhem Guirado break away from the back of a maul to score a decisive try before the break to send the hosts into a handy 16-9 lead. Baptiste Serin brace of penalties. a conversion and a drop goal summed France’s points as South Africa’s Handre Pollard bagged two penalties.
Just into the second half, Bastareaud and Nkosi scored in quick succession leveling the scores up to 23-16 in the favour of France. Serins conversion and penalty wrapped up France’s second half points to 10.
