Kenya 7s toil past Spain, books Samurai in Safari 7s finals

For the third time in a row, Samurai 7s and Shujaa will face off in the finals of the Safari 7s tournament after the former beat Kenya Morans 17-5 to the second semifinal.
Samurai took a slim lead to the break after a converted try in the tight half that saw Eric Ombasa and Augustine Lugonzo sin-binned. In the final half, Lugonzo went over for their second try while Tony Owour set up Kurt Lee Arendse for the third try.

Spain fight
Kenya 7s eliminated spirited Spain thanks to a 31-26 sudden win. Kenya 7s found them trailing in the opening minutes courtesy Martinez Lucas try. Rafael De Santiago added the extras before Kenya responded with two quick-fire tries by Daniel Taabu and Leonard Mugaisi. Mata Sanchez ensured a 14-14 tie on the stroke of halftime after a converted try.
Taabu scored a converted try on return from the break but the Spaniards tied the scores through Sanchez. Substitute Harold Anduvate received an offload from Cyprian Kuto to score while Taabu’s conversion miss saw Kenya enjoy a slim lead.
The resilient fight from Spain saw Christian Hernandez tie the scores at 26-26 and conversion miss saw the match head to sudden death.  In the sudden death, Spain were reduced to six men and Harold Anduvate scored immediately for Kenya’s to return to the finals
Fifth place 
 Homeboyz and Homeboyz will clash in the fifth place finals Portugal qualified after João Garnato,  Francisco Vassalo, Manuel Marta and Raffaele Storti scored to Red Wailers 45-10 in the first fifth-place semifinals.  Homeboyz on their part came from behind to beat 35-12 Namibia. Namibia scored two tries against Homeboyz one try in the opening half
The Deejays returned from the break re-energized and scored through Max Kangeri to tie the scores.  Israel Soi added two quick tries for Simon Odongo coached side and Ayimba Brian ensured a 35-12 win with a converted try.
Mwamba won the  9th place finals after a 17-12 sudden death win over Apache who finished the game with a man down after a red card to Richard Sindindi.
