Kabras subdue Kisumu & MMUST in a preseason clash

Kenyan Cup side Kabras RFC beat Kisumu RFC 37-12 in a preseason friendly match staged at Kakamega Showground on Saturday.
Kelly Akengo bagged a brace in the match while Ugandan duo Asuman Mugerwa and Philip Wokorach scored a try each. Paul Abuto and Hillary Odhiambo scored other tries of the match.
MMUST vs Kabras
Kabras II got a 25-12 win over MMUST  in the first friendly match staged at the venue. Idris Sefalanga scored MMUST try off the scrum down while Kabras went to the break leading following a penalty and unconverted try in the half.
MMUST managed just one try in the closing half. Skipper Samuel Mbeche sold a dummy in the 22 and went over for their second and final try. Kabras, on the other hand, dotted three times to win the clash.
This is likely to be the team’s final preseason tie as they head into the new season which kicks off next weekend. Kabras under Henly Du Plessis will launch their campaign with a date with Mean Machine who regained topflight status after winning the Championship.
Kisumu under Howard Okwemba will be chasing the top flight status as well as MMUST. This will be MMUST’s debut season in the second tier.
