Romania outline importance of win over Kenya Simbas

Having beaten Kenya Simbas 36-5, Romania A captain Eugene Capatana believes the match was of importance to the side as it will helped the coach realize the areas he needs to strengthen before the match against Portugal.
The skipper sees the match as a stepping stone for the young players who are keen to rise to the  first team.  He hopes they will make needed adjustments ahead for Portugal match.
“For us it is a new beginning, we take everything from scratch, we have many young players that we try to help them climb up to the national team. It’s a good moral victory, it’s an important match because we played together and coaches can build on what they saw in the game, they can make adjustments, he told Rugby Romania.
The side ran five tries in the first half which included a penalty try to lead 29-5 and the skipper describes half as better in terms of attack compared to the second half which was more defensive.
“In the first half I played more, we tried the attack, the counterattack, in the second we defended more and was fixed to what we needed, defense and attack, to work exactly on them because they are essential. I think we showed that we can control both of them, and although the second half was not as spectacular as the first one, I say it was a win for us because when you defend you really see the strength of a team, the way the players communicate with each other.”
Commenting on Simbas positivity, he said,
” Desire and enthusiasm to play, to be on the field. After all, let’s not forget why we play rugby, it is important not to miss that pleasure to play because every one of us came to the rugby of pleasure. In addition, it is very important that young boys want to prove what they are capable of and want to win their place in the team.”
