Kenya Simba's Repechage opponents counting gains after Wales tour

Hong Kong concluded their Repechage preparations with a 35-24 win over Welsh side Crawshays RFC side on Saturday and their Chief Rugby Operations Officer Dias Rees believes that they have achieved their targets ahead of their trip to France.
A hat trick by Casey Stones, conversions by flyhalf Matt Rosslee, a penalty try and a late try by Tyler Spitz, was all Hong Kong needed to outwit the hosts with 35 points.
Speaking on the outing, Rees said the Welsh warm-up helped the players acclimatize besides having quality training sessions.
“We have achieved what we wanted, which was to come over and acclimatize, and to play two very tough games. We’ve also achieved a very high level of training and preparation here. We brought a squad of 35 healthy players and are now able to select a group of 30 from that healthy squad of 35,” Rees told Hong Kong Rugby Union.
Hong Kong are expected to confirm the final squad for the Repechage this week which Rees termed as very difficult decision to make since the players had put their hands up across the squad.
“But it’s been tough and it is going to be tough on the players who don’t make it certainly. Everyone wants to be involved which is good, and we will keep them involved, the entire squad will travel to France as a group of 35, and they will continue to be a big part of our preparation,” Rees concluded.
