MMUST drub Baraton in a friendly

MMUST Rugby began their 15s preseason friendlies by hitting Baraton University 92-5 in a match staged at MMUST Grounds on Sunday.
The team’s captain Samuel Mbeche touched down three times in the match while John Bahati, Tyson Juma, Vincent Soli and Venance Shikuba bagged a brace each.
Claus Shirievo,  Isaiah Mulongo, Kevin Abuga, and Austin Owuor crossed over for a try each as Ochieng Ahaya’s side started their preseason friendlies on a high.  Baraton’s lone try was scored by Dennis Kipchumba.
The result comes days after their victory in the WEKUSA 10 aside tournament which they won following a 35-0 win over Kibabii in the finals
The side is warming of their debut season in the second tier and will be hoping to replicate the form witnessed in the nationwide campaign, in the 2018/19 season.
The side is in the Western Region Conference that has the former Kenya Cup sides Western Bulls, Kisumu, Kisii RFC. Kitale, UoE and Egerton are also in the region.
