UoE Trojans survives Arsonists scare

UoE Trojans have defeated Moi Arsonists 12-10 in a mouthwatering friendly clash staged in UoE Pavilion Grounds.
The hosts were forced to come from behind twice to edge their cross town rivals.Arsonists controlled the proceedings in the better part of the first stanza.They were rewarded by a try from Brian Asoro off a rolling maul with Melvin Juma splitting the posts for a 7-0 lead at halftime.
The Trojans came in the second half a rejuvenated side staging camp in Arsonist’s 22 and as a result,they got their first points through a converted try by Anthony Omondi in the corner flag.Minutes later,Melvin Juma struck in 40m penalty to put his side in the lead again after an infringement by UoE.
With eight minutes to go,Trojans pitted camp again in Moi University territory.After a couple of interchanges, Anthony Omondi made a strong carry beating two markers to dot it down again in the corner but with this time the conversion sailing wide.The Trojans hold their nerve till the last minute to emerge victorious 12-10.
