Kenya 7s S&C coach quits

Few days after being named among the Kenya 7s technical bench members, Strength and Conditioning coach Goeffrey Kimani has announced that he will not honour his contract.
Kimani who made a return to the team before the start of the 2017/18 season served  for a season before his contract expired. He reapplied for the position recently advertises and as the new technical bench was unveiled he was retained in the same capacity.
He has however decided to rescind the decision to work with Kenya 7s again citing personal reason. Kimani has revealed that he will take a sabbatical.
“With expiry of my contract with @OfficialKRU @KenyaSevens I have rescinded the decision to sign up a new one due to personal reasons and will instead proceed for a much need sabbatical.It was an honour serving both country and sport,always appreciated,” reads his statement.

His exit comes as a blow to Kenya 7s who have started preparations for the Safari 7s and World 7s series.
During his time with the team, Kenya 7s won Singapore 7s and in the 2017/18 season they attained the best point tally ever.
