Machine pips USIU to lift Floodies Varsity title

Mean Machine have bagged the Impala Floodlit Varsity title after a 12-9 win over USIU Martials in a match played on Saturday 27 October at Impala Club.
Eliud Mulakoli bagged the first points of the game for USIU just after the 10th minute. The side would then keep marauding Machine at bay for 21 minutes. Machine’s chase finally bore fruits as Charles Kinyanjui went over for the first try of the game.  The side held hold on the slim lead till the halftime break.
Second half
On return from the break, Mulakoli restored USIU Martial’s lead with a long-range penalty. Charles Kuka who was playing his first match after an eight-month of injury announced his return with a well-taken dropkick three minutes after Mulakoli’s kick.
Machine launched a fightback immediately and landed a try through hooker Paul Ekirapa. Kinyanjui’s landed his second try but it was canceled while Mulakoli penalty attempt went off the target. The University of Nairobi side held on the lead and went on to win the clash.
