Kenyatta University’s Blak Blad and the University of Nairobi’s Mean Machine have named their squads to face off in the finals of the varsity league scheduled for UON grounds on Saturday.
In what promises to be a mouth-watering encounter, both teams have not dropped a single point en route to the final apart from the nervy Machine win over Egerton in the semifinals. Both teams could not be separated by scores which stood at 13-13 at the final hooter and the game had to be decided by penalties. KU, on the other hand, made an easy job of a Catholic university in semi-final two whooping them 44-7.

Kenyatta University has named experienced halfback Brian Wahinya and winger Achadius Khwesa, both coming from a Kenya sevens call-up. Experienced backrower Ian Obukwa will captain the team, his attacking threat well known to his opponents.
Four Machine players who started off the bench in the semi final against Egerton now take starting positions for the final. Bruce Odhiambo comes in at fly half to replace Festus Shiasi who moves to outside centre while James Kangethe slots in for Alfred Arege at blind wing. Ken Mutuku and James Oluoch come in for Adam Muogo and Collins Otieno in the front row.
