Western Bulls head coach quits, joins rivals

KRU Championship side Kisumu RFC have appointed Howard Okwemba as their new Head Coach.
The tactician joined the former Kenya Cup side this week from rivals Western Bulls. Okwemba has been Bulls head coach since November 2015 where he took over the role following the exit of Ugandan coach Brian Makalama.
High Octane Rugby
The coach has confirmed his new role and has promised the fans that they should expect powerful and dynamic rugby.  He said: “Yes I am their coach and all I can say is the fans should expect high octane rugby.”
Okwemba started his coaching career at Kenya Cup side KCB RFC where he served as an assistant coach during Michael Tank Otieno reign.  In 2011 where he was appointed the head coach to replace the Otieno.

Okwemba played for Musingu high as a winger and fullback. His task will be to guide the side back to Kenya Cup.
Last season he led Western Bulls to a third-place finish in the regular season. The sides journey back to Kenya Cup, however, ended at the semi-final stage following a loss to Mean Machine. In the season Echulusi lost just three matches.
Kisumu RFC, on the other hand, finished behind Bulls in the regular season and their Kenya Cup push ended at the semifinal stage after a loss to Oilers.
