Machine outwits Catholic Monks to storm Floodies final

Mean Machine secured progression to the Floodies final in the varsities category after beating Catholic Monks 34-22  in a semi final match staged at the Impala Club on Saturday.
Machine will face USIU in next Saturday’s final.USIU staged a comeback to beat Swaras 17-13 in the other semi final.
Machine did not take much time in stamping their authority as Eric Muthama split the posts with a well taken penalty in the 22nd minute.

Skipper Shadon Munoko would then cross the chalk for Machine’s first try of the match but Muthama’s conversion sailed wide.
Bremmer Namisi responded for  the Monks with a penalty as Machine held an 8-3 lead at the breather.
Six minutes into the second half, Munoko sealed his brace with a try which was converted before Marvin Karungi scored an unconverted try to extend Machine’s lead.

Munoko, who was named the MVP in their quarter final win over Strathmore last weekend returned to the scoresheet with a converted try,taking the scores to 27-3 in favour of Machine.
Monks scored a five pointer courtesy of Winston Saidi  before Namisi inked his name on the scoresheet with a try  which he converted.
Machine responded with their sixth try of the encounter tcourtesy of Antony Baca as Johnson Waiganjo converted a Catholic Monks try at the death.
