Machine beat Egerton on penalties to reach Varsity League finals

The University of Nairobi narrowly overcame Egerton University in a match that had to be decided by penalties to book a berth in the finals of the varsity league.
The match played at the Egerton university grounds saw the hosts start off well as they looked to use their home advantage. The visitors, however, were determined and came from behind to level scores for an 8-8 tie at halftime.
Tight final half
At the end of the second half, there was nothing to seperate the two sides as they tied 11-11. The match then went into extra time, but still, neither of the teams scored forcing the match to go into penalties where Machine proved to have better kickers winning the duel courtesy of three scored penalties.
UON will face the winner of the second semi-final between Kenyatta University and Catholic University while Egerton University will face the loser in the third-place playoffs.
