Strathmore survives Nondies late scare to reach Floodies semis

Strathmore Leos survived a late scare from Nondies and proceeded to the Semifinals of the Floodlit tournament after a 25-23 win the second quarterfinal
Nondies found themselves trailing 22-6 in the opening half in which Strathmore were dominant. Gideon Makumi was the first player to get on the scoresheet with a penalty. He later converted Philemon Olang’s try for a 10-0 lead.
Olang returned to the scoresheet with the second try for Strathmore before Austin Mboya scored the third try. Makumi converted to for the side to lead 22-6.
Second half
In the final, Saidi Sumba landed Nondies first try of the that was converted by Martin Juma as the Rangers launched the chase for a comeback. Makumi’s however scored a penalty at the other end that saw Strathmore extend the lead to 25-13. Debutant Steve Odhiambo backed a brace in the later stages of the game but were let down by missed conversion.
The winner of the tie will tackle the winner of the Impala-Quin clash.
