Good news for Kenya ahead of World 7s Series

The Kenya Lionesses have received an official invitation to take part in the Dubai 7s leg of HSBC Women Rugby Sevens Series, Kenya Rugby Union has confirmed.
The tournament will be played on the 29th and 30th of November.  It will be Kenya’s maiden appearance in the HSBC Sevens Series as they have previously been participating in the Invitational Tournaments in Dubai and Hong Kong only.
The invite came as a result of their outstanding performance during the Rugby Africa Women’s 7s Tournament where they have crowned Champions in May this year.
Dubai 7s will now be the second leg of the World Rugby Women’s Sevens Series after the introduction of the HSBC USA Women’s Sevens in Glendale, which is now the new opening round.
Lionesses head coach Kevin Wambua has already named his provisional squad in which he handed maiden call-ups to eight players.
