Western Bulls centre joins rivals

Western Bulls Centre Reinhard Ashioya is finalizing his move to KRU Championship rivals Kisumu RFC.
The former St Peters man has been with the Kakamega based side for close to five years and has now decided to cross over to Kisumu ahead of the new season.
Echulusi Head Coach Howard Okwemba confirmed that the player has express interests in joining the former Kenya Cup side since he resides in Kisumu.
“He is situated in Kisumu at the moment and he has opted to join Kisumu RFC. We have also received the request from Kisumu and he is finalizing his move,” Okwemba told Scrummage.
Ashioya, a 2015 nominee in the Magharibi Michezo awards now joins Venance Shikuba on the list of players that are leaving the club in the ongoing transfer window.
Utility back Duncan Abuyeka is linked with a move to Kenya Cup side Nakuru RFC but Okwemba says they have not been approached by Nakuru and he remains in their books as their player.
“So far we have not received anything official from Nakuru. He is still our player and I can only comment on it if we hear from Nakuru,” he said.
Western Bulls will spend the second season in the second tier and they will be hoping to impress and reclaim a spot in the top tier.
