SC Pirates reveals preseason plan ahead KRU Championship

Coastal outfit South Coast Pirates who had a fair resilience after finishing top eight in the second tier -KRU championship are set to begin their pre-season friendlies scheduled to take place on October 6th to November 3rd, 2018.
The side will begin their challenge with Malindi RFC before the second test with arch-rivals Mombasa RFC. The match will pit a first-ever encounter between the two sides since South Coast Pirates’ home and away victories against Mombasa in the 2016/17 season where Pirates under the tutelage of head coach Kenny Andola, Pirates registered a 16-12 home win and a 22-11 victory away from home.
Importance
South Coast Pirates new head coach Lawrence Buyachi outlined the importance of the matches as many minutes of match fitness and practice before the season officially kicks off in mid-November.
“With pre-season training currently going on, it will be important to arrange a few matches to gauge ourselves and see where we’re at before the league begins. Our focus is to ensure we are fully prepared for what is ahead of us so we will play four friendlies in readiness for the Championship itself,” ’’ he told the club’s portal.
